By-Laws of Grant Rocket Football, Inc.
Article I
Definitions
1. Board: The Board of Directors of this organization.
2. Director: Any member of this organization’s Board of Directors.
Article II
Object
The object of Grant Rocket Football, Inc. is to provide full-contact football for the area youth. Our emphasis is on:
a. good sportsmanship
b. teamwork
c. discipline
d. positive learning environment
e. life skills such as responsibility, self control and goal setting
Article III
Board
Section 1. The business, property, and affairs of the organization shall be managed by the Board of Directors.
Section 2. The governing body of this organization shall be the board consisting of 9 members of this organization, namely, five directors, and the president, vice-president, secretary and treasurer. If there’s ever an even number of board members, the secretary will not cast a vote.
Article IV
Election & Removal of Directors & Officers
Section 1. At a regular meeting, nominations shall be presented for new members and voted on by the Board of Directors. If the nominee receives a majority of the votes that person shall be elected to their respective offices.
Section 2. A board member will be removed from office for any of the following: violation of the bylaws of Grant Rocket Football, gross misconduct, gross violation of league rules, or gross violation of finances. Violations will be discussed at a board meeting and voted on by the Board of Directors. If the board member in question receives a majority of the votes that person shall be removed from their respective offices.
Article V
Duties of Officers
President – It shall be the duty of the president to preside at meetings of the board, to keep the Board of Directors informed of all issues of Grant Rocket Football, assist committees as needed, to represent Grant Rocket Football at league meetings and to perform other duties that ordinarily pertain to the office of president.
Vice President – It shall be the duty of the vice president to preside at meetings in the absence of the president, serve as an assistant to the President, serve as an Ombudsman, assist committees as needed and to perform such other duties as may be prescribed by the president or the board.
Secretary – It shall be the duty of the secretary, or designee, to record attendance at meetings, record and preserve minutes of the meetings, distribute minutes of meetings to board members, and send out notices of meeting changes.
Treasurer – It shall be the duty of the treasurer to have custody of all funds, accounting for it to the board monthly and to perform other duties as pertains to the office of treasurer. Upon retirement from office, the treasurer shall turn over to the incoming treasurer, or to the president, all funds, books of accounts, or any other club property.
Article VI
Meetings
Section 1. Regular meetings of the board of directors shall be held on the second Monday of each month at the Grant Area District Library’s Community Room. Special meetings of the board may be called by the president whenever deemed necessary or upon request of another member of the board, due notice having been given.
Section 2. Any member of the Board of Directors who shall fail to attend at least 8 regular meetings in a calendar year, excepting any leave of absence or excuse granted by the Board of Directors for good cause shall be removed from office.
Article VII
Method of Voting
The business of this club shall be transacted by viva voce* vote. The board may determine that a specific resolution be considered by ballot rather than by viva voce vote.
A majority of the Board of Directors shall constitute a quorum for transacting the business of any meeting.

Committees
Program/Merchandise Committee – This committee shall plan and coordinate activities to include a player program to be sold at game days and plan the end-of-season banquet. They shall also be responsible for designing and ordering merchandise to include but not be limited to player jerseys, coach’s shirts and items to be sold at home games. See Amendment 121107B
Field Committee – This committee shall facilitate field usage, set up and support for all home games. They shall also coordinate and train press box coverage (announcer, clock operator) chain support and volunteer referees.
Concession Committee – This committee shall order supplies and food to be sold in the concession stand and coordinate volunteer support for home games.
Coaching Committee – This committee shall oversee the management of all coaching staff including interviewing new coaches, conducting background checks, and coordinating coach’s clinics/training.
Fundraising Committee – generate ideas and implement means of raising funds to help support the general operations of Grant Rocket Football. See Amendment 121107A
Article X
Amendments
These bylaws may be amended at any board meeting, a quorum being present, by a two-thirds vote of all members present, provided that notice of such proposed amendment shall have been mailed to each member at least ten (10) days before such meeting.
121107A Fundraising/Merchandising Committee – generate ideas
and implement means of raising funds to help support the general operations of
Grant Rocket Football. They shall also be responsible for designing and
ordering merchandise to include but not be limited to player jerseys, coach’s
shirts and items to be sold at home games.
121107B Program/Merchandise Committee – This committee shall plan and coordinate activities to include a player program to be sold at game days, plan and prepare for events such as pro and college player appearances, parades, and plan the end-of-season banquet.
121107C All board members and directors along with committee members will support the Grant Varsity football program/coaches, work to build relationships with school administration and encourage an environment that exemplifies sportsmanship and respect.
