Board of Directors Meeting

Members Present:          Jerry Bomay – President; Kevin Throop – Vice President; Stephanie Howell – Secretary; Tanya Hector – Treasurer; Jason Cunningham – Coaching Director; Deb Gonzales – Concessions Director;

Angela Brummel – Fundraising Director; Melissa Cunningham – Programming Director; Scott Konicki – Field Director

Call to Order: 7:04 pm

    I.   APPROVAL OF MINUTES

Minutes from October 14th board meeting were reviewed. Motion to Approve by Jason; 2^nd by Tanya.

Minutes from October 20^th board meeting were reviewed. Motion to Approve by Kevin; 2^nd by Missy.

   II.   TREASURER’S REPORT

Treasurer’s report for October 14^th through November 10^th  was presented and reviewed. Current check book balance is $7,004.58. Motions to approve Treasurer’s report made by Stephanie and Kevin.

  III.   COMMITTEE REPORTS

         A.   Concessions Director – Deb Gonzales

               Sales for the year are between $8,000 and $9,000; profit will be approximately $4,000.

               Overall things went well for the season. Always had workers when needed.

         B.   Coaching Director – Jason Cunningham

               Picking up the sleds this weekend.

               Head Coaches dinner is planned for Friday, December 4^th, 6:30 pm, at Northern Trails. 

         C.   Program Director – Melissa Cunningham

               Football banquet is all set for this Friday at 6:00 pm at the High School. PowerShots will be at the banquet

               offering DVDs of the games. Price is $15 per DVD; however, with a commitment of 20 purchases, price will be

               reduced to $10 per DVD.

               We have 13 programs left, those will be available for sale at the banquet.

         D.   Fundraising Director – Angela Hicks

               Need to work on fundraising for next year.

               Have 4 of the grey football shirts left over which will be available for sale at the banquet.

         E.   Field Director - Scott Konicki

               Need to get a few of the ref jerseys back.

               Also need to begin working on ways to recruit more volunteers for next year.

  IV.   OLD BUSINESS     

         A.   Banquet – Friday, November 13 at 6:00 pm at the High School. Cookies and punch will be served afterwards.

               Board needs to arrive at 5:30.

         B.   Texas Holdem – due to various issues / problems with the processing of our application, we will not be having

               any additional Texas Holdem tournaments this year. Jerry will work on obtaining a refund considering our

               check was cashed but our application was not processed in a timely manner.                

   V.   NEW BUSINESS

         A.   Coaches Dinner – Friday, December 4^th, 6:30 pm, at Northern Trails.

         B.   Board Dinner – Friday, December 11^th, 6:30 pm, at Northern Trails.

         C.   Ways to recruit more kids into the program: Off season training, clinics/camps with GVSU, GR Thunder; make

               sure registration dates and times are published in the school newsletter; emails/postcards to parents with

               kids already in the program.

         D.   Registrations next year are going to be handled by Stephanie and Tanya.

         E.   GRANT ROCKET FOOTBALL IS NOW LOOKING FOR A NEW COACHING DIRECTOR.
