Board of Directors Meeting

Tuesday, March 10, 2009th,  7:00 p.m.

 

 

 

Members present:  Jerry Bomay, Kevin Throop, Jason Cunningham,  Angel Brummel, Deb Gonzales, Melissa Cunningham, Scott Konicki

 

Members absent: Jill Bomay, Melissa Herbst.

 

Community Members present –

 

       

 

I.                    Approval of Minutes

 

 

a.       February minutes were reviewed. Exceptions to minutes are:

1.      Scott Konicki was also voted to the Board as Field Director.

2.      Under Fundraiser- Besides seniors being $4.00 , 15 dollars for family and kids under 13 not 11 are considered children.

 

 

 

b.      Approved –  Other than exceptions the minutes were approved Jason and seconded by Angel.

 

 

 

II.                 Treasurer’s Report

a.       There is approximately 6100 in the checkbook with some deposits to be added.

b.      23 early registrations to date.

c.       We bought about 90 dollars of pizza at last 2 off season trainings.

d.      Treasurer’s report approved – Jason and Kevin

 

 

III.               Committee Reports

 

a.       Concessions – Deb – nothing

 

 

 

b.      Coaching director – Jason

.

1.      Jason received Several coaching applications. We will plan on two coaches for each age group except 1 coach for seventh. Coaches to be decided by April 1. Jason will set up a separate committee meeting to chose coaches.

2.      Several coaches have been to the off season trainings.

 

 

c.       Program Director – Melissa Cunningham – combined with Angel

 

 

d.      Fundraiser – Angel

1.      Waiting for advertisement for prices for times indicator and Hilites.

2.      Baked good sales at spaghetti dinner

3.      Equipment swap during spaghetti dinner.

4.      She also has bulb information coming.

5.      We will be showing product to sell at the spaghetti dinner

IV.              Old Business

 

1.      The league is going through some changes.  Montague has dropped out.

2.      7th graders will have Wednesday and Saturday games in the Muskegon Youth football league. Vicki Faber will be our Muskegon league representative.

 

 

 

 

 

V.                 New Business

 

a.       PCA (Positive Coaching Alliance). Teaching coaches how to coach to win but learn life lessons along the way. 2900 dollars per year or 1200 for a 6 month online course. Every time you bring PCA for a workshop you also have to provide them with travel expenses.  We will see if the league has a interest in splitting cost for PCA before we make a decision on whether or not purchase.

b.      Texas Holdum. We will need to decide whether or not to cancel the Sunnybrook (Detroit)  one due to availability of workers.
