Board of Directors Meeting

I. Approval of Minutes
a. January minutes were reviewed.
b. Approved – Deb and Angel
II. Treasurer’s Report
a. There is 5595.66 in checking.
b. Most checks written have cleared so this amount is fairly close.
c. Treasurer’s report approved – Jason and Kevin
III. Committee Reports
a. Concessions – Deb – nothing
b. Coaching director – Jason
1. We need to follow up on the coaching applications.
2. Jerry had 8 coaches here on the 30th for a training session. It went well.
3. Jerry went to the Glazier clinic in Chicago on the 6th and it was well worth it.
c. Program Director – Melissa Cunningham – (absent)
d. Fundraiser – Angel
1. She passed out tickets for the spaghetti dinner which is on April 24 from 5-8. We will charge $4.00 for Seniors.
2. We need to purchase take out containers.
3. Spring fundraiser – we talked about participating in Frontier Days or in city wide yard sales. The yard sale would be too difficult to do during football. We are considering Frontier Days. Bake sale and silent auctions were also discussed to hold during the spaghetti dinner.
IV. Old Business
1. Registration is $50 then $35. If you sign up during off season training, then it is $45 and $30.
2. Our goal is to have 200 kids. We have had 75 kids show up for off season training.
3. We are giving away 15 scholarships to families who need assistance. They will go through an interview process to receive it.
4. Brochures are done.
V. New Business
a. Montague left the league, meaning that we may have to play some teams twice or some of our own teams. Birth certificates will be required to sign up.
b. The next league meeting is February 22nd at McDonalds in Fremont.
c. We contacted Barb and Mr. Bogner to let them know that we will be taking 7th graders. We will have to have a representative attend the Muskegon League meetings. Jerry already attends the Newaygo County League meetings.
d. Sign ups start in February. Deb will help at the 20th, Angel at the 27th. Players need to be fitted, weighed, and money taken. We need to add grade for next year to registration.
e. Scott Konicki expressed an interest in the field director position.
f. There are several Texas Hold ‘Em Tournaments scheduled – one in May and 3 weekends in June.
g. Jason is buying a microphone, radio and songs.
h. Jerry nominated Scott and Angel 2nd.
