Board of Directors Meeting

Tuesday, June 20^th, 2008, 9:00 p.m.

Members absent:  Marcas Ledezma

I.                    Approval of Minutes

a.       May minutes were reviewed.

b.      Approved –  Melissa and Melissa

II.                 Treasurer’s Report

a.        There is $20,927.38 available.

b.      There were 5 deposits totaling $16,953.88

c.       $6,150 deposited for Registration

d.      The report was approved – Melissa 1^st, Deb 2^nd.

III.               Committee Reports

a.       Concessions – Deb (no report)

b.      Coaching director – (not present)

c.       Field Director – Marcas –  (not present)

d.      Program/Fundraiser Director – Melissa Cunningham

1.      Dale has Who’s Your Tiger design.  $12.50 for tee shirts, $15 for the long sleeve and $20 for sweatshirt.

2.      She talked to April about setting up more dates in August.

3.      She mailed out flyers to businesses.

4.      She talked with Dale about knit caps, coffee cups and cow bells.

IV.              Old Business

a.       Registration – we are at 147.  We have approximately two 1^st/2^nd grade team, two 3^rd/4^th grade teams, and three 5^th/6^th grade teams.  We discussed not allowing kids to sign up with the request to be on the same team as another child for ride purposes.

b.      Coaches – nobody has been told that they are a head coach yet.  We think coaches are all set.  We would like the rosters to them by July 1^st.  They can not practice but it would be nice to send a welcome letter.  We would like to do 3 ring emergency card binders again.  We can start August 4^th.

V.                 New Business

a.       Texas Hold ‘Em Tournament – We made $10,700 on the Texas Hold ‘Em Tournament.  Jerry suggested we use all of our raffle licensing for these tournaments.

b.      Jason Cunningham attended to listen to coaching director responsibilities.  We read his answers to questions and we were impressed.  We would like to keep track of plays and attendance.  All voted Jason in favor as Coaching director.

c.       Equipment purchases – Kevin and Jerry would like to meet with Jason on equipment purchases.  We would like to get a youth sled that breaks into smaller sleds, tackling dummies, thrust arms, balls, etc.  We discussed coach’s jackets, raincoats, yellow vests for the chain gang, and purchasing our own chains. 

d.      We reiterated supporting the school program in all aspects.  We need to pick Rocket Nights.  We also need to discuss adding a contribution fund.
