Board of Directors Meeting

I.                    Approval of Minutes

 

a.       February minutes were reviewed.

b.      Approved – Melissa C and Kevin

 

 

II.                 Treasurer’s Report

a.        There is $5,759.90 available.

b.      Two checks written - $129.28 – Spaghetti dinner supplies, $45.00 pizza, 1 deposit of $176.00

c.       The report was approved – M.C. 1st, Kevin 2nd.

 

 

III.               Committee Reports

 

a.       Concessions – Deb (no report)

 

b.      Coaching director – Julian (not present)

 

c.       Field Director – Marcas –  (not present)

 

d.      Program Director – Melissa Cunningham (no report)

 

 

e.       Fundraiser – Melissa Hepinstall (see report)

1.      Wesco Buckets reduced to $4.00

2.      Merchandise Catalog – take orders, all merchandise from Diversity

V.                 New Business

a.       Plainfield Facility is out of business so Texas Hold ‘Em Tournaments can not be held there.

b.      Texas Hold ‘Em in Detroit is June 1st – 8th in Sterling Heights – Jerry will go down and is looking for others to help.

c.       Kevin Scott from Youth Sports Alliance has 4th, 5/6th, and 7/8th grade teams and would like to play an off season game in G.R.  Maybe we could combine 4th graders.

d.      Equipment purchases – Nike is willing to give grants – we need 20 balls.  Dunham’s will give us a deal on balls or 10% on purchases.  We need more hand shields – 13 more - $40.

e.       Next board meeting is at Bassai Karate Academy in the Brooks Township Hall meeting room.  It was voted on to have the rest of the meetings there on the 2nd Tuesday of the month.

f.        March 21st – the next football training with Grand Rapids Thunder coming.

g.       Insurance – Directors/Officers Liability - $400/ $1,000,000 with $1,000 deductible.  General Liability and Accidental/Medical - $217/team for 9 and under, $230/team for 10-12 years.  Kevin will check with other companies first. 

h.       Grant Band would like us to purchase trailer – would need to check on insurance for it.
